iPhone 11: Customize wallpaper - how to do it

If you don't like the default wallpaper on your iPhone 11, you can change it with just a little effort. In addition to a selection of pre-installed wallpapers, you also have the option to use your own photos from your image gallery. We'll explain how to do that in this article.

Change wallpaper - how it works

In order to provide variety, Apple changes the default wallpapers with every iOS update. Follow these steps to customize the wallpaper on your iPhone 11:
  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap on the "Wallpaper" option and then on "Choose new wallpaper".
  3. Now pick an image from one of the two default categories. Alternatively to the default background images, you can also set a photo from your own image gallery as background.
  4. Now you have the option to scale or move the image to adjust the image detail. Once you are satisfied with your selection, tap "Save".
  5. Finally, tap "Home Screen".
Not only the home and lock screen wallpapers can be customized, some apps such as WhatsApp allow you to make such personalizations within the app as well.

Change lock screen wallpaper

In addition to the home screen, you can also customize the lock screen background. To do this, proceed exactly as you would if you wanted to change the home screen background image, except that in the last step you select "lock screen" instead of "home screen".
