iTunes doesn't sync: How to solve the problem

If iTunes doesn't sync your iPhone or iPad automatically, there is a bug in the software. However, it can usually be fixed quickly so you can access your data as usual.

How to react when iTunes stops syncing your Apple devices

Syncing between iTunes and your iPhone or iPad is related to several factors. On the one hand, there may be errors in iTunes, on the other hand, there may be a problem with your mobile device. Third source of error is the USB cable usually used for connection. You should check all factors one by one:
  1. Disconnect the USB connection first if no synchronization is possible. Now restart your PC and iTunes just like your iPhone once. Then try again to sync your iPhone with iTunes.
  2. If there is still no improvement in sight, first check the functionality of the USB cable. Use a different cable or test with a charger whether the USB cable used still works.
  3. After that, check your iOS and iTunes program for any available updates. If the programs are out of date, synchronization cannot be performed.
  4. Click on your device at the top of iTunes. Then click "Sync with this iPhone over Wi-Fi" in the "Overview" menu and then disconnect the USB connection. Check if the data is synced if you now charge your iPhone at a power outlet.
  5. Some virus scanners block the synchronization between iTunes and iPhone. Disable the software for a moment and check if the synchronization is then possible.
