With error 5105, iTunes wants to tell you that the service cannot connect at the moment. This can have several causes:

• The most obvious problem: The device has no internet connection at the moment.
• However, it can also be a firewall blocking data transmission, just like an antivirus program.
• In some cases, the error is already triggered when the date and time are not set correctly.

By going through these steps in order, there is a high chance that this will fix the error. In very rare cases, it is also possible that there are currently server-side issues at Apple; however, this is the exception.
