MacOS: Create Bootstick on Windows

If you want to create a new operating system on your Mac, you have the choice between a simple update and a fresh installation of macOS Mojave. If you prefer the installation, mainly because of the fewer problems, you should create a bootstick in advance.

How to create a bootstick

The advantage of a bootstick is that you can equip several Macs with the new Apple operating system without having to download each time. This will save you an enormous amount of time.
  1. First you need to download the tool TransMac to have the program written to the stick.
  2. While the tool is chargeable, it can be tested for 14 days free of charge and the use of the bootstick is permanently possible. Thus, there is no cost to you.
  3. Install the program on your Windows. Start the program and accept the trial period.
  4. Select the drive, that is, the stick on which the program should save the operating system.
  5. Now run TransMac as admin and specify the version you want to store on the stick.
  6. Now the program creates the desired backup and formats the stick. When the formatting is complete, the message "Restore Complete" appears.

Be aware of the privacy policy

Even though Apple provides the update free of charge to all users, you should only use the created bootstick for private use. Because otherwise you could get in trouble for commercial trade.
