Sky Ticket on Linux - does it work at all?
Sky Ticket is one of Sky's new streaming services. Here you can watch series, movies and sports just like Sky Go, without having to become a real Sky customer. A ticket can be cancelled with a notice period of one month. But does Sky Ticket also work under Linux?
Why doesn't Sky Ticket work under Linux?
Sky has brought out the Sky Ticket Player out of fear that users will record content and then publish it on the net. Only with this it is possible to stream content from Sky Ticket. There is a version for Windows and one for Mac, but none for Linux.- Sky will not release a Linux version of the Sky Ticket Player, because there are too few end users with a Linux system.
- A Sky Ticket app is also to follow for iOS first. The apps for iOS and Android also still have some children's quirks.
- Generally, however, Sky has a good offer and it is worth ordering the service.
- However, some series are not always completely available on Sky Ticket and must therefore be watched at other streaming service providers or on TV. This is due to the licensing rights that Sky shares with television operators.
- Sky has not yet announced that a version of the Sky Ticket Player for Linux is in planning. However, this should not be a problem, since almost every user can switch to a Windows system.
