How do I enable Adobe Flash Player Mac?

Some content on web pages, such as animations or videos, can only play properly if you enable Adobe's Flash Player first. We'll show you how to enable Flash Player in the Safari browser on Mac, step by step, in this article.

How to enable Adobe Flash Player on Mac

In order to properly view or play multimedia content, many websites require Adobe Flash Player to be enabled. For Mac users who use Safari as their browser, the procedure for enabling Flash Player depends on the version of Safari. If you don't know which Safari version is installed on your Mac, check this first by going to "Safari" > "About Safari".
  1. If you are using Safari 11.0 or newer, please launch the browser by clicking the icon and select "Preferences" under "Safari" in the menu bar.
  2. Then go to the "Website" tab, scroll down to the "Plug-Ins" section and click the box next to the "Adobe Flash Player" entry to enable it.
  3. Now you can set up more settings for the Flash Player before you exit the "Preferences" section and restart the Safari browser.

Mac: Enable Adobe Flash Player on older Safari versions

If you still have Safari 10.0 or older installed on your Mac, please open Safari and navigate to "Safari" > "Preferences" > "Security". First make sure that JavaScript is enabled and then click on the plug-in settings. There, select the entry "Adobe Flash Player", define which websites are allowed to use the Flash Player and confirm your changes with "Done".
