Chrome: Save session - how it works

To recall a complete session at a later time, it is necessary to save it before. Chrome already has a built-in function for this, which you only need to activate. How to do this and what alternatives there are, read here.

How to enable session saving in Chrome

To allow you to restore a Chrome session later, the browser has a special feature to save a session. To use it, please launch Chrome and open the browser menu by clicking the icon with three bars in the top right corner. Alternatively, you can also access the menu via a key combination. To do this, press the "Alt" + "E" keys simultaneously. Then go to the "Settings" section in the menu and activate the "Open recently viewed pages" option under "My Start".

Save session: Use an add-on for Chrome

Alternatively to the method described above, saving a session is also possible by using an add-on for Chrome. To use this, first download the Session Manager from the Chrome Store and add it to your browser.
  1. If the Session Manager is enabled in Chrome, please call up all the tabs in the browser that you want to save as a session.
  2. Then click on the "Package Icon" in the menu bar and in the window that opens, specify a name under which the session will be saved.
  3. Once you confirm your entry by clicking "Save", the session will be saved in the Session Manager in the "Session List" area.
  4. To reopen a saved session, click the "Package Icon" and select "Open" next to the corresponding session.
