No Man's Sky: Building a base - what you should consider

A growing base as a starting point for planetary travel: With this principle, No Man's Sky is currently celebrating a real revival. We show which things are important at the beginning.

Home sweet home 2.0: No Man's Sky offers many options for base building.

From a small hut to a high-tech fortress, everything is possible when building bases in No Man's Sky.

No Man's Sky: Building a base needs to be well thought out

The most important thing first: For each base in No Man's Sky you need a base computer. You place this in the desired area, only then you have access to the base components in the building menu. But before you build the base computer, you should assess the area well.
  • First and foremost, a hotspot for electricity is important: This applies at first only in moderation, because you get the little energy needed also from solar plants. The further you progress, the higher your electricity needs.
  • After the base computer follows next no building, but a teleporter. This is elementary important and simplifies the construction significantly.
  • For new players: Build as soon as possible the prefabricated round base module. This starts namely a quest series, in the course of which you get your own employees and quite a few blueprints from all areas.
  • Once electricity is available and you have the appropriate blueprint, containers are lining up to accommodate items. You can have up to ten containers per base.
With these basics you can really take off in No Man's Sky and advance your progress to the center of the galaxy. If you're building on a planet you don't want to stay on forever, that's okay, as finding the perfect planet will get easier and easier later on.
