No Man's Sky: Extend base - how to increase the radius

Your bases in No Man's Sky are limited to a fixed radius. However, you can expand this, which is even necessary for some purposes. Our guide has all the info on the subject.

If necessary, you can build your base in a much larger radius.

Most players of No Man's Sky even own multiple bases.

No Man's Sky: How to build in a large radius around your base

The most important info on base expansion:
  • Your base is basically defined with a radius of 300 u around the base computer.
  • By building within this area, however, the radius is expanded. These can be structures as well as decorations or other building objects.
  • This is important if you want to develop an electromagnetic source that is not directly at your base.
  • Remove yourself from the base in the direction of the hotspot source and build an object approximately every 50 u.
  • This will extend the buildable zone. Repeat this until you reach the source.
However, this method also has its limits: although not officially stated, most players report a limit at around 1,000 u. So the power source should not be further away from your base if you want to use this method.Tip: If the method does not work, save and reload the game. In many cases it will work then.
