Huawei P30: Perform firmware update

From time to time it is necessary that you perform a firmware update on the Huawei P30. By updating the operating system, you not only close security gaps, but also ensure that all apps are still compatible with the smartphone.

Your Huawei P30 works with the Android operating system, for which firmware updates appear at regular intervals. Usually, your smartphone informs you via notification that an update is available or it simply performs the update automatically if you have not disabled this feature. However, you can also manually check whether an update is pending and can thus trigger it yourself.

1. Take your smartphone and open the "Settings" app via the home screen.
2. Then select the "System" menu here.
3. Tap on "System update".
4. You will see the currently installed Android version on your Huawei P30 here. If you are not yet shown a more recent version, tap "Check for updates".
5. After a moment, you will either see a message that the latest version is already installed or you will be shown an available firmware update that you can install on your Huawei P30.
