With a car, you are only allowed to drive on the road. Bicycles also have regulations that decide where you can ride it and where it is prohibited. If you want to participate in road traffic with an e-scooter, then you must also pay attention to where you are moving.

Where are you allowed to ride e-scooters

E-scooters are becoming increasingly popular as a means of transportation. For this reason, the regulation for small electric vehicles specified exactly under what conditions you can participate in road traffic with them. In addition to rules about the vehicle, such as the maximum speed of 20km/h, it also specifies where you are allowed to ride the scooter.

1. With an e-scooter, you are allowed to ride on the bike lane, on bike lanes, but also on bike lanes.
2. You are therefore allowed to ride on almost all paths where you are also allowed to ride a bicycle. However, it is prohibited to ride on the sidewalk or in the pedestrian zone.
3. Also prohibited is driving in one-way streets in the opposite direction of travel.
