Connecting NTBA and splitter: How to do it
In the past, users still needed an NTBA and a splitter when setting up an Internet connection. Today, the NTBA is integrated into the router. So you can connect your router directly to your phone jack. You can get the router and all cables from your provider. You still need a splitter in some cases.
How do you connect an NTBA and a splitter?
The NTBA used to be placed between the router and the phone jack. The NTBA is used for communication between the telecommunications provider and the end user's equipment. The functions of the NTBA have been built into every router for several years now. So today you only need to connect the router without interposing an NTBA. A splitter is still needed by some users if they do not want to use the main telephone socket to connect the router. This is the case with users who have several telephone sockets in their house and cannot use the main telephone socket for various reasons. For example, if the connection to the main phone jack is too weak to be used in a room farther away.Connecting a Router
