Android: Share WLAN password - how to do it

WLAN passwords are often long and annoying to enter. However, Android Q offers a built-in sharing feature. The function allows you to share WLAN passwords stored on the smartphone with other users.

How to share your WLAN password in Android Q

With the help of the share feature, you can quickly transfer WLAN passwords stored in Android Q to other smartphones via QR code.
  1. Open your smartphone's settings and go to the "Network & Internet" category.
  2. Select "WLAN" and tap the network you are connected to in order to access the network details.
  3. Tap "Share". A QR code will then be generated.
  4. Scan the code with another smartphone and you will be automatically connected to the associated WLAN network without having to enter a password.
