Share a Dropbox folder in just a few stepsDespite strong competition from Google Drive, iCloud and Co, Dropbox has been able to hold its own on the market. The ease of use is certainly an important argument for this. Since folder sharing is the essential purpose of Dropbox, you only need to follow these steps:
  1. Log in to Dropbox.
  2. Click on "All Files" in the sidebar on the left and move the mouse over the folder you want to share.
  3. Click on "Share" and enter the email addresses of the people you want to invite.
  4. Now click "Share" so that the selected people get an email with the link to the folder.

How to set options for editors

When sharing folders, pay attention to the selection box to the right of the email input. There you have namely two options:
  • Editors are also allowed to add and delete files.
  • Viewers can only view and download the existing files.
You can still specify the further powers of editors under "Folder settings". By selecting "Owner only", no one but yourself can invite other people.
