Samsung Galaxy Buds and Buds+: What are the differences?

With the Galaxy Buds, Samsung took its first step into the world of true-wireless headphones. As a successor, the Buds+ came onto the market. Our guide explains the differences between the generations.

Galaxy Buds or Buds+? The most important difference can be seen in the endurance.

The Galaxy Buds+ are newer and therefore more expensive than the first Buds. Therefore, you should know in which places this is noticeable.

This is how the Samsung Galaxy Buds differ from the Buds+

Externally, the headphones as well as the cases are exactly the same. Nevertheless, there are some differences:
  • The Buds+ are slightly heavier than their predecessors (6.0 g) at 6.3 g.
  • In terms of runtime, the Buds+ are clearly superior (11 vs. 6 hours). The charging case offers another eleven hours, previously it was only seven hours.
  • In talk time, it is 7.5 vs. 6 hours.
  • The charging process is also much faster with the newer headphones.
  • The Buds+ have two outward-facing microphones instead of one.
  • The Ambient Mode of the Buds+ can be adjusted in three levels.
  • You can also change the volume with the Buds+ by finger pressure. This is not possible with the Buds.
Other features that were newly added with the Buds+ concern, for example, compatibility with Bixby. Diese Neuerungen sind allerdings nicht so wichtig wie die genannten; allen voran die deutlich höhere Laufzeit ist für viele Menschen ein Argument, zu den neueren Buds+ zu greifen.
