Controlling iPad via Mac - Using Mac as a Control Center

In principle, all Apple devices are one big family: the connection between them is strong and possible in many directions. So you can also use one Apple device to control one or more other devices - it's possible, for example, to use your Mac to control your iPad.

How do you set up your Mac to control your iPad?

To control one Apple device with another, you don't need any additional software at all. With the built-in "switch control" feature, you can do it without the hassle of searching and downloading apps from the Internet. To do this, first set up the switch control on the Mac. This can be done as follows:
  1. Click the apple icon in the left corner of your Mac's start screen and select "System Preferences" from the drop-down menu.
  2. Look for the "Accessibility" option and then click "Switch Control" in the list on the left.
  3. If not done automatically, switch to the "General" tab and check "Enable Switch Control".
  4. Add any switches like "Pointer", "Keyboard" or assign individual scripts and functions to switches.

How to control iPad with Mac?

After you have configured the switch control, you need to connect iPad to Mac. This works as follows:
  1. Log in to the same Wi-Fi network with the Mac and iPad.
  2. Log in to the iCloud service on both devices with the same Apple ID.
  3. Click "Devices" in the switch control taskbar that appears on your Mac and select the iPad.
Now you can control your iPad from the Mac using the switches you have set. Following the same system, you can control all your other Apple devices with any Apple device.
