controlling the iPad with a mouse - these options are available

With the iPad, you have numerous options with which you can perform everyday tasks. Usually, you control the apps using the touch interface of the device. However, for some time now, more and more users have been requesting mouse support. Since iOS 13, you can now also use a mouse to control the iPad.

How to operate your iPad with a mouse

Since iOS 13, iPads also offer mouse support. This gives you the ability to control apps and the device itself using a mouse. For this, you can use a Bluetooth mouse of your choice. If you have decided on a mouse, then set up the connection.
  1. Go to the "Settings" app on the iPad.
  2. Further down you will find the option "Operating aids".
  3. Tap here on "Physical and motor" and activate the menu item "Assistive Touch".
  4. Further down you will see the item "Pointing devices". Select this and then tap on "Bluetooth Devices".
  5. Now start the pairing mode of your mouse. How to turn on this mode, you can find in the instruction manual of the mouse.
  6. Once the devices are paired, you can control the iPad with the mouse.
  7. Alternatively, connect a wired mouse to the iPad. Here, however, you may need a suitable adapter. Zudem funktioniert die Verbindung nicht immer.
