Alexa: Short mode is apparently also coming to Germany

Voice assistants like Alexa are useful in many situations in life. With the short mode, it should go even faster to the heart of the matter.

What is the Alexa short mode?

Who knows Alexa from devices like the Echo, knows that the answers can be a bit lengthy. The short mode should change that - and is therefore quickly explained:

• Alexa's answers to your questions should be shorter.
• Furthermore, Alexa in short mode does without the confirming "Ok" and often only gives a beep to confirm from itself.
• The short mode is activated either by app setting or on Alexa's demand. According to users in the U.S. Alexa namely asks independently whether to switch to short mode.

So if you want to know once again what song is playing, the answer in the future could not be so long that you miss half the song. So the feature makes perfect sense and is a clear improvement in practical operation.

Alexa: How to activate the short mode

To use the short mode for Alexa, the activation in the Alexa app is necessary beforehand. To do this, open it and tap "More" at the bottom. Then navigate to "Voice responses" in the settings and activate the short mode by sliding the corresponding switch to the right.
