Android 11: Recover deleted pictures

It happens now and then that pictures and videos on the smartphone accidentally end up in the trash. Fortunately, the data can be recovered in many cases. Learn here what options you have in Android 11 to recover already deleted pictures and videos.

Android 11: How to recover deleted pictures

If you use the Google Photos app to manage your pictures, you can recover deleted items without much trouble under certain conditions. Before the pictures or videos are finally removed from the smartphone, the files first go to the recycle bin for 60 days. However, the files are only preserved for that long if you do not empty the recycle bin in advance and you have activated Google's "Back-up & Sync" service. The storage service automatically backs up pictures and videos from the Google Photos app in your Google account.
  1. Open the Google Photos app on your smartphone.
  2. Call up the photo gallery and tap on "Trash"
  3. You will then see an overview of the deleted pictures and videos.
  4. Press your finger on a picture or video until the "Recover" option appears at the bottom of the screen.
  5. Finally, select the location where the picture or video should be recovered.
Alternatively, you can either try to load a backup or recover the data using special recovery apps. Neben Smartphone-Apps gibt es auch einige kostenlose Desktopanwendungen, wie Android Data Recovery, mit deren Hilfe Sie versuchen können, die verlorenen Daten zu retten.
