How renting an e-scooter from VOI works

VOI is a Swedish e-scooter sharing provider founded in Stockholm in 2018. After e-scooters have also received road approval in Germany in 2019, the use of VOI e-scooters is also possible in many German cities. In detail, VOI is so far represented in 13 major cities such as Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Munich and Stuttgart.

1. To rent a scooter from VOI, you need the free VOI app, which is available for download in the App Store or Google Play Store.
2. In the app, you can then search on the map for scooters available in your area and unlock them by scanning the QR code.
3. For the unlocking of the scooter, a one-time basic fee of one euro is due. The other costs depend on the duration of use and amount to 0.15 euros per minute.

VOI: This is to consider when using an e-scooter

Independent on whether you borrow an e-scooter from VOI or another provider, there are certain rules to consider when using e-scooters. For example, you must be at least 18 years old to use a scooter and must not be under the influence of alcohol or medication while riding. Also note that riding on sidewalks is prohibited and that you must not block any entrances or exits when parking the scooter.
