On the subject of mods in The Sims 4, you need to know the following:

• Normally, the game creates a mod folder on its own when you first start it.
• However, this is not located in the main path of The Sims 4, but under "Documents" and there in the subfolder "Electronic Arts" -> "The Sims 4".
• The rest is pleasantly simple: After you have downloaded a mod, you only need to unzip the contents into the mod folder.

To be on the safe side, you should check in the options the next time you start the game, whether mod support is enabled. For some mods it may also be necessary to enable script support.
