Google Currents: This is the new solution for business users

For some time now, more and more Google account users have been receiving the info that Google Currents is available. Our guide explains what the new service is about and which target group it addresses.

New focus: Currents combines the legacy of Google+ with a fresh interface.

Google+ never lived up to expectations, and as a result the plug was pulled on the network in 2019. As an alternative, there is now Google Currents, albeit with a clearly defined area of use.

Google Currents is not aimed at private users looking for a social network.

• Currents replaces Google+ as a communication tool for businesses. The business application is thus in the foreground.
• Currents is intended to make communication within a company or team more efficient. For this purpose, Currents is closely linked to Google's core business, namely information retrieval.
• So, for example, there is a home stream in which each user is shown content that may be relevant to him.
• With Currents, direct communication is possible just like networking between individual users, groups and companies. The network character, as it was typical for Google+, has thus been preserved.
