If the Windows Update does not run automatically, you have several options to force the update in Windows 10. It works either via the settings or via the command prompt.

How to force update to Windows 10

Normally, the update to Windows 10 runs automatically in the background. You will get a corresponding message and can comfortably wait for the update to finish. In some cases, however, the download does not work or the operating system can only be downloaded incompletely.First, see if you can trigger the update in the settings:

1. Click on the Windows icon at the bottom left and then click on the cogwheel.
