Safari: Install addons - how to do it

If you use Safari as a browser, you can equip it with additional features by installing addons. The quickest way to search for addons is through the Apps Store. Read this article to learn how to do it correctly.

How to install addons for Safari browser

The easiest way to install addons in your Safari browser is to download them from the App Store. To search for and install browser extensions, please open Safari first.

1. Then navigate to "Safari" in the browser's menu bar and select "Safari Extensions" from the list.
2. You will now be redirected to the App Store, and all available addons for Safari will be displayed.
3. Once you have found an extension, please click "Download" next to it to start the download.
4. To activate the previously downloaded extension afterwards, click on "Safari" again in the browser, go to "Extensions" in the "Settings" and put a check next to the addon.
5. If you want to deactivate installed addons again or even uninstall them, this is also feasible under "Safari" > "Preferences" > "Extensions".

How to update Safari addons

If you have downloaded the browser addons with a newer version of Safari, they will be updated automatically if there is an update. On the other hand, if the addons were installed with older versions or come from the developer's site, updates have to be done manually. To perform the update, please navigate to "Safari" > "Preferences" > "Extensions" in the browser, click "Updates" and select the updates you want to perform.
