Asus Zenfone 6: Hotspot - how to set it up

In order to share the Internet connection of your Asus Zenfone 6, it is necessary that you set up a hotspot on the Asus smartphone. We explain the steps required for this and how to connect a laptop, tablet or other smartphone to the hotspot here.

How to set up a hotspot on the Asus Zenfone 6

To browse the Internet on the go with a device like a laptop or tablet that doesn't have mobile data, you can share your Asus Zenfone 6's Internet connection. For this to work, however, you need to set up a hotspot on the device beforehand.
  1. To do this, first open the Settings app of the device by either clicking on the "gear icon" in the Quick Settings or swiping upwards on the home screen and selecting "Settings".
  2. In the settings, then go to "Network & Settings" > "Hotspot & Tethering" and move the slider next to the "WLAN Hotspot" entry to "On".
  3. Now specify a name and password for your hotspot and tap "Save" to complete the setup.

Asus Zenfone 6: Establish a connection with the hotspot

Once you have activated the hotspot function on the Asus Zenfone 6, you can connect other devices to it. To do so, make sure the Wi-Fi is enabled on the device you want to connect and search for the name of your hotspot in the list of available Wi-Fi networks. Then tap on the hotspot name and enter the associated password to connect.
