Epic Games: Why does the launcher show players as offline?

The launcher from Epic Games lets you buy and manage new games. In addition, you have the ability to invite friends to multiplayer games or open a private chat. However, in order to invite friends, they have to be online. If players are still shown as offline, there are various causes.

You need Epic Games' launcher to install and launch your games that you bought from the store. For example, if you want to play Fortnite with your friends, you can do so via the launcher. However, there are problems with the application in some situations, which cause all friends to be displayed as offline, even though they are online.

1. Exit the Epic Games Launcher.
2. Then go to "Control Panel", then "Network and Internet" and then "Network and Sharing Center".
3. Hier klicken Sie auf die Option „Adaptereinstellungen ändern“.
4. Mit der rechten Maustaste wählen Sie Ihr verwendetes Netzwerk aus.
5. Gehen Sie anschließend im Dropdown-Menü auf „Eigenschaften“.
6. Klicken Sie auf „Internetprotokoll Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)“ und danach auf „Folgende DNS-Serveradressen verwenden“.
7. Unter „Bevorzugter DNS-Server“ geben Sie „1.1.1.1“ ein. Bei „Alternativer DNS-Server“ dagegen „1.0.0.1“.
8. Starten Sie den Epic Games Launcher und überprüfen Sie, ob das Problem nun behoben wurde. Unter Umständen müssen Sie Ihren PC neustarten und den Schritten erneut als Administrator folgen.
