Windows 10: Change font - to your liking

Windows 10 is the last Windows to be launched. From this point on, only updates for Windows 10 will be made and no new version will be released under its own name. Windows 10 offers some new features. However, the default font can now only be changed in a roundabout way.

How to change the font in Windows 10?

The font in Windows 10 can only be changed via the registry.

1. First of all, you should make a backup of your registry settings so that you can restore them in case you make a mistake.
2. To do this, open the Registry with the Run dialog by pressing Windows key + R and then typing "regedit".
3. Now go to "File" and "Export" to save a Registry backup.
4. Look for the Registry entry "[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionFontSubstitutes]" and open the default file.
5. Here you now replace "SEGOE UI = ", which is after the equals sign, with your font.
6. If you do not know what the font is called, then open the Control Panel and go to "Appearance and Customization" and further to "Fonts". Hier finden Sie eine Aufzählung aller verfügbaren Schriftarten, die Sie für Windows einstellen können.
7. Speichern Sie die Registry File und starten Sie Windows neu.
8. Die Schriftart sollte nun auf die von Ihnen angegebene Schriftart umgestellt sein.
