Using Windows Search: Windows 10 features

Windows Search has been an important tool for many Windows generations. With Windows 10, Microsoft wanted to improve the function significantly. Here, you can use a voice command to search as well as manually enter the term in the text field provided. You can search for programs, documents or other content.

Windows Search has been further refined with Windows 10.

Windows 10: How to use Windows Search

Navigation is pleasantly simple in Windows 10. Nevertheless, the file search often promises an even shorter path. If you do not want to make the search query via a voice command, you can easily use the search box.
  1. By default, you will find the search in the lower left corner of the taskbar. Enter the name of the program or file in the text field "Enter text here to search".
  2. You will see results as you type. On the left you see the result with the highest match, web search results and documents.
  3. Then select the searched entry with the left mouse button.
  4. If you want to make changes to the search, right-click on the taskbar and select "Search".
  5. Here you can hide the search box, show only the icon or the full search box.

Search folders: Function always in view

In addition, the File Explorer also provides you with a search function. Conveniently, this is always directly visible, namely in the upper right corner of the folder window. Simply enter the desired term into the input field, which is marked with a magnifying glass, and then press Enter.
