Apart from budgets for players and employees, you don't have much to do with club finances in Football Manager 2020. This also applies to the construction of a new stadium.

Football Manager 2020: New stadium depends on the board

Only the board can decide if and when a new stadium will be built.

• The basic requirement is that the existing stadium is not too new. The capacity also plays a role, since more seats mean permanently higher revenues.
• Consequently, you have the best chances of a new stadium, if you are successful with a club in the long term, but the stadium is too small.
• If the club is doing well financially, it is possible that the board decides after a few years on their own to build a new stadium.
• You have no say in the capacity, design and name.
• The only interaction option is under "Finance" in the board requests. There you can ask (depending on timing) for the construction of a new stadium. This may possibly be the trigger for the project.

Keep in mind that the stadium construction - as in reality - takes quite a while. The actual construction is often still preceded by a planning phase. Thus, a new stadium is really a long-term affair and can motivate to stay loyal to the club for quite a while.
