Windows 10: Show on-screen keyboard

If you need a keyboard when using your tablet or PC, but you don't currently have one available, then you can easily fix this bottleneck. By having the on-screen keyboard show up, you can type as usual and do so on a visual keyboard.

Windows 10: How to show the keyboard

Windows 10 offers you some convenient gadgets, which includes the ability to work with an on-screen keyboard.
  1. Shut down your device and open the settings. To do this, you can either click on the gear icon or use the key combination of "Windows" and "I". Select "Ease of use".
  2. In the left column you will find the option "Keyboard". You need to set the slider of the "Turn on on-screen keyboard" option to "On".
  3. Now, the virtual on-screen keyboard will appear to you and you just need to use it. If you don't need it anymore, then just click the "X" in the upper right corner and the keyboard will disappear.

A permanent solution?

Surely, the thought may arise that this gadget of Windows 10 is also suitable as a permanent solution. However, you should keep in mind that by using it, you will not be able to see a part of the screen. Furthermore, you will not be able to type as fast on the virtual keyboard as you are used to on a standard keyboard. Therefore, consider the gadget only as a temporary solution.
