Zoom doesn't recognize camera: what to do?

Zoom is among the most popular applications for personal and business video conferencing. If the camera does not work during a meeting, this can have several causes. However, sometimes just restarting the computer helps to get the camera working again in Zoom.

What to do if Zoom does not recognize the camera

If you are in a Zoom meeting but the camera is not working, it may be due to open programs that are currently accessing the camera.

• Close all other applications on your PC during the Zoom call.
• Restart your computer and dial into the Zoom meeting again.
• Uninstall Zoom and download the latest version of the application.
• Look for the support page of your end device and update the driver for the camera if necessary.

To test your camera in Zoom

To ensure that the camera will work during the meeting, you can test it in Zoom in advance:

1. Click on your profile picture and click on "Settings" in the selection.
