iPhone X: Calibrate display - how to do it

On the iPhone X, you have several options to calibrate the display. In addition to adjusting the brightness, you can also make changes to the color settings that content and images have on the display.

How to calibrate the display of iPhone X

The iPhone X has a Super Retina display, which thanks to OLED technology has a particularly high contrast ratio, high brightness and a wide color gamut. Even though Apple doesn't actually offer its users a function to calibrate the display, you have various setting options on the iPhone X to make the most of the device's Super Retina display.
  1. Among other things, the iPhone X has a sensor that automatically adjusts the display's brightness to the lighting conditions in the environment.
  2. To turn this feature on or off, navigate to "Settings" > "General" > "Accessibility" on your iPhone X and click "Display adjustments".
  3. Look there for the item "Auto-Brightness" and move the slider next to it so that it is green or gray background.

These further adjustments to the iPhone X display are possible

The color management system of the iPhone X also allows you to make further display adjustments and use functions to regulate the colors. The use of the color filter function is particularly useful here if you have a visual impairment or are color blind. To do so, go to the "General" > "Operating aids" > "Display adjustments" path and select one from the four available filters. Changing the color intensity is also possible in the "Display adjustments" menu by moving the slider next to "Intensity" accordingly.
