Save IP camera on computer: The requirements

In order to save the recordings of an IP camera, it is necessary to connect the camera to a storage system. Besides storing in an online cloud or on an SD card, using a computer for storage is the most convenient method. However, in order for the storage of the camera footage on the PC or Mac to work, there are some requirements to be met. For example, you must first connect the IP camera to the Internet and install the camera's software on your computer. Also, it is necessary to keep the computer on all the time so that the recordings are saved 24/7.

This is how you need to proceed to connect your IP camera to the computer

Once the requirements for using the computer as a storage location for the recordings of an IP camera are met, the next step is to start setting the recording settings.

1. To do this, first open the previously installed app or software of the camera and add your IP camera to it.
2. In the app, then navigate to "Video recording settings" and set up the recording of the IP camera.
3. On your computer now still select a storage path under which all recordings created with the IP camera should be stored.
