GIMP: Brush size - go with your needs

The brush is one of the most important tools available to you in GIMP. In order for you to work carefully and cleanly with the tool, it is necessary to adjust the brush size to your project. This is really easy if you know how to do it.

How to adjust your brush size

Since GIMP 2.4 is on the market, all brushes have a variable size.
  1. The easiest way to vary the brush size without interrupting your work is to program the "Up" and "Down" buttons accordingly.
  2. First open the column where you can set the active control within GIMP. In the menu that appears, select the item "Main Keyboard". For this, a double click is enough.
  3. Now you need to fill the column "Event". For this, first select the option "Curser Up" with a double click. Proceed exactly the same with the variant "Cursor Down".
  4. Confirm your input and start working. If you want to change the size of the selected brush, drag the mouse pointer into the image and click the "Up" or "Down" button the appropriate number of times.

It pays to work with the right brush thickness

Although it can be tedious to work on an image or graphic with a fine brush, you will be rewarded for this diligence in the final result. Moreover, it is much easier to work carefully than to have to restore components later because they were edited by mistake. Moreover, this process is significantly simplified by programming your keys accordingly.
