Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus: Using Airplay

To be able to stream on TVs, Apple offers the so-called Airplay function. This allows you to throw a video directly to the TV. On Android, so also on the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus, you need an extra app to be able to play videos via Airplay.

How to use Airplay on the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus

On Android, you can not only send with the Airplay protocol, but also receive it, so to speak, use the phone as a TV.

1. To act as a broadcaster, first install the free app AllCast.
2. Once you launch it, the app will automatically search for Airplay-enabled devices on your network.
3. The app will then list these devices and you can choose which one you want to play a video on.
4. If you want to turn your phone into an Airplay receiver, simply download and install the Kodi media player.
5. Öffnen Sie mit dem Zahnradsymbol die Einstellungen und gehen Sie weiter auf „Dienste“.
6. Aktivieren Sie hier die Option „Empfang von Airplay Übertragungen“.
7. Nun wird das Gerät als Airplay-Empfänger in Ihrem Netzwerk gelistet.

Möchten Sie einen weniger umständlichen Weg gehen und lieber einer Alternative zu Airplay nutzen, bietet sich hierfür Samsung Smart View an. Das Protokoll funktioniert ähnlich wie Apple Airplay, wird allerdings von Samsung bereitgestellt.
