Streaming: ARD-Mediathek Download

In the ARD-Mediathek you can find numerous current series and movies that the broadcaster makes available online. However, the content is usually only available for a limited time and for many users it is also important to be able to use the offer on the go, without having to fall back on their own data volume.

ARD-Mediathek Download: How it works

Movies and series of the ARD-Mediathek can be downloaded both to the smartphone and to the computer. All the necessary steps for the smartphone download you will learn in the following:

1. First, download the ARD-Mediathek app from the Google Play Store or from the App Store.
2. Once in the app, now select the title you want to download.
3. For Android users, a download icon appears in the top right corner, which must now be selected. On the iPhone, you get to "Make available offline" via the three-dot menu and click this as well.
4. The download will now start automatically.

Load content to PC

1. For this purpose, you can, for example, download the program "MediathekView".
2. Once the download of MediathekView is complete, the ZIP is unpacked and the EXE is executed.
3. On the top right of the program you will find a search box. Enter here the desired title.
4. Next to the title appears the download icon. Hier lassen sich Dateinamen und Zielpfad bestimmen.
5. Heruntergeladene Filme und Serien finden Sie im Download-Reiter von MediathekView.
6. Über „Gespeicherten Film abspielen“ können Sie den Titel nun offline wiedergeben.
