With a smartphone like the Huawei P30, you don't have to rely on any other devices to navigate to your destinations. All you need is a suitable app and make sure you allow your smartphone to access location services.

Turning on GPS for navigation on the Huawei P30

To use your Huawei P30 for navigation, you need the GPS feature. Through it, the navigation app can keep good track of where your current location is and thus guide you to your destination. You activate the location detection as follows:

1. Open the settings in the menu of your Huawei P30.
2. Now select "Security & Privacy".
3. Followed by this, open "Location Access".
4. Activate the slider "Access my location" in this menu at the very top.
5. To ensure that navigation with the Huawei P30 works well, now tap "Location accuracy" at the bottom and also activate the slider "Improve location accuracy".

Get to your destination by smartphone

Now that the prerequisites for accurate navigation with the Huawei P30 are met, you only need an app that has the corresponding functions. One of the most popular apps is Google Maps.

1. Download Google Maps or even an alternative navigation app for free from the Google Play Store and launch it after the installation is complete.
2. Your location should be detected automatically.
3. Enter your destination. Google Maps will then calculate the fastest route.
4. Then press "Start Navigation". On the screen and by voice prompt, the navigation begins with your Huawei P30.
