  • The Sims 2 was released in 2004 and was available for many platforms besides the PC, including Nintendo GameCube, Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS, as well as Sony's and Microsoft's consoles. Over time, a full eight content expansion packs were released - setting the stage for today's business model. In addition, real-money purchases were possible in the store.
  • The Sims 3 was released in 2009 and brought with it a new aging stage (young adult). Overall, the third part is from the point of view of many fans so far the best Sim game.
  • The Sims 4 was released in autumn 2014 and is the last part of the series to date.
Infos on a possible Sims 5, we have summarized here. In addition to the aforementioned main games, a whole series of other spin-offs appeared, such as The Sims Stories (2006) and The Sims Online, which, however, was only sold in the US and disappointed across the board. Despite numerous adaptations, nowadays especially for mobile devices, the focus thus remains on the main games.
