Unitymedia is one of the leading cable providers in Germany. This means you can book television as well as internet and telephone from Unitymedia. The provider also provides free hotspots in some regions. However, you have to register for this in the online portal.

How to connect to a Unitymedia WifiSpot?

For non Unitymedia customers, 100 MB at 150Mbit/s is available daily. As a customer, on the other hand, there is no limit and you can surf unlimited. So how you connect to the Unitymedia hotspot differs in whether you are a customer or not.

1. If you are not a Unitymedia customer, first open the settings on your smartphone and switch to the "WLAN" options.
2. Wait until your phone shows all available networks. You may want to turn your WLAN off and on again to trigger a new network search.
3. Select the "Unitymedia Public WifiSpot" and press "Connect" if necessary.
4. Once you have connected to the network, a message usually appears asking you to log in. If this message does not appear, simply open your browser and any web page.
5. Request an access code. Diesen erhalten Sie per SMS nach Eingabe Ihrer Telefonnummer.
6. Haben Sie den Zugangscode erhalten, müssen Sie ihn nur noch eintippen und schon können Sie zwei Jahre lang mit diesem Code surfen.
