Can you use Netflix offline?

Netflix offers a wide range of movies, series and documentaries that you can stream anytime. However, you need a constant Internet connection for this, as well as an appropriate bandwidth to enjoy all the content without any judder. That's why you might be asking yourself whether Netflix is also an offline option.

Netflix: Watch your favorite movies and series offline

If you don't have an Internet connection available, you can use Netflix offline. We show you how it works.

1. For now, it only works if you use Netflix's app on an appropriate device. This is because the app gives you the option to download content and watch it offline.
2. However, you need a device that has at least 4.4.2 for Android and 9.0 for iOS.
3. You can also download and watch the content on a laptop if you use an appropriate emulator, such as Bluestacks Video Player.
4. The emulator also allows you to play the apps on a Windows- or Linux-based system.
5. By downloading the videos, you can watch all the content offline. However, this only applies to those videos that you have downloaded in advance.

Does this walkthrough work with all content on Netflix?

You cannot download all content on Netflix. This is due to licensing regulations and EU directives. Therefore, you should check in advance if the content you want is available for download. You can tell by the download icon on the details page. For series you have to look in the overview of the individual episodes on the bottom right.
