Can you listen to Spotify offline for free?

There are numerous music streaming services that allow you to listen to your favorite music anywhere. However, the biggest drawback here is that a constant internet connection is usually required. Many services like Spotify therefore also offer offline access to the music. But is this also possible for free?

Listening to Spotify offline for free - is that possible?

In the free version of Spotify, listening to music tracks offline is not possible. For this, it is necessary to download them beforehand. However, the function is only unlocked if you own Spotify Premium. At the moment, the Premium subscription for one person costs 9.99 euros per month. After that, you can save up to 10,000 music tracks on each of five devices and listen to them offline.

1. To do this, go to the Spotify app on your smartphone or other device.
2. Sign in with your login details, if you have not already done so.
3. In the next step, select the one you want to download from among your playlists.
4. Open the playlist and tap the "Download" button. This is located directly under the displayed cover and title. To download only individual tracks, scroll to the song and tap the icon to the right of it. This changes color when the title has been downloaded.
5. Once the process is complete, you can select and play the songs even without an active internet connection.
