Apple HomePod: Set up Spotify - how to listen to your music

Spotify is one of the most popular music streaming services. If you also have a HomePod from Apple, it makes sense to link these two services together. This way, you can have the music you have on Spotify played through the smart speaker via voice command.

How to set up Spotify on the Apple HomePod

If you have already created various playlists on Spotify, you can also play them on your HomePod via your iPhone. However, using a voice command via Siri is not directly possible. First set up Spotify on your HomePod.

1. To play music tracks from Spotify via your HomePod, you first need an AirPlay-enabled device on which you start Spotify. An iPhone or MacBook is ideal for this.
2. Make sure that both the HomePod and the iPhone are within the same Wi-Fi network, as this is the only way to connect.
3. Install Spotify on your MacBook or as an app on your iPhone and launch the application. Nachdem Sie sich mit Ihren Accountdaten angemeldet haben, starten Sie einen Musiktitel Ihrer Wahl.
4. Klicken Sie anschließend unterhalb der Wiedergabe-Anzeige auf die Option „Verfügbare Geräte“.
5. Im erscheinenden Menü werden nun alle möglichen Geräte angezeigt, die für eine Wiedergabe des Titels infrage kommen. Klicken Sie hier auf „Weitere Geräte“ und anschließend auf Ihren HomePod.
6. Danach wird Spotify über den HomePod wiedergegeben.
