Firefox: change default search engine
Firefox is one of the most popular browsers, along with Chrome. Over the years, various features have been added to the fast internet surfer. For example, you can set your default search engine, which is used as soon as you do not enter an address, but only terms in the URL bar.
How to set the default search engine in Firefox
Adding a new search engine to Firefox and setting it as default is not that difficult.- Open Firefox and click on the three dashes in the upper right corner. Now select "Settings" or "Options" in the drop-down menu.
- In the settings bar that now opens, you can click on "Search" or "Search" on the left side.
- Here you now have various setting options. You can choose whether to search with the address bar or whether you want to use an extra search bar.
- Under "Default Search Engine" you can now specify which search engine should be used as the default.
- Let even more options such as whether search suggestions should be displayed.
- At the bottom of the page you can add new search engines by clicking on "Search for more search engines".
