You will need Paralysis Pouches to craft many weapons and armor sets. You can get them by hunting Great Girros.

• Great Girros belong to the Fanged Wyvern and are at home in the Valley of Decay.
• The monsters are immune to thunder damage, but are vulnerable to water, fire and ice damage.
• The Girros' weak points are their head, claws and tail. Focus your attacks on these points, weak points can be exposed. Attack them, you will achieve more damage.
• Attention, the monster can paralyze with its fangs. Therefore, dodge all attacks if possible.

Get paralysis pouches by quest

From hunter rank eight, you can take the side quest "A decomposed thing". To complete the quest and collect the reward, you will need to go hunting for Great Girros in the Valley of Decay. For completing the quest, you'll receive a paralysis bag and a payment of 3,240 zenny. There is also a chance that the slain Great Girros will also give you a paralysis pouch as loot.
