Hide Steam game time: Here's how to do it

The following steps are necessary:

1. Open your profile in the top right corner of the Steam client and select "Edit Profile".
2. Click on "My Privacy Settings" on the right.
3. Under "Game Details", check the option to always keep your game time secret.

You yourself will still see your game time, but your contacts will no longer get this info. Alternatively, you can also set the entire game details to "Private": Then other Steam users will not see your game time or any other details about your games, such as which games you own and which title you are currently playing.
