If you want to log out of Facebook, it only takes a few clicks. If you want to close your account permanently, you will find the corresponding option for this in the account settings. If you are unsure whether you will return again, Facebook also offers an option to deactivate the account only temporarily.

How to log out of Facebook

To log out of Facebook, click the arrow icon in the top right corner and select "Log out" from the menu. However, if you want to close your account completely, this works via the settings.

1. Log in to Facebook with your user data and call up the settings.
2. Click on the left in the navigation on "Your Facebook information" and then on "Delete your account and your information".
3. There, select the option "Delete my account" and enter your password.
4. Confirm the process by finally clicking "Delete account."

You can revoke the deletion process within 30 days by logging in and clicking "Cancel delete". After the deadline, all your data will be deleted.

Disable Facebook account

If you are not sure whether you want to delete your account permanently, you can deactivate it for now.

1. Log in to Facebook with your user data and access the settings.
2. Click on "General" in the navigation on the left and then on the category "Manage your account".
3. There you will find the option "Deactivate your account". Select it and follow the instructions.

To reactivate the account, you just need to log in.
