Huawei Mate X: Suppress number - how to do it

If you want to call an unknown number or surprise someone, it is a good idea to suppress your own phone number. In this case, the other person will not be shown any information about the number. This is also easily possible with the foldable Huawei Mate X.

How to suppress your number on the Huawei Mate X

When you call a person on your smartphone, they will usually see your phone number or the stored name for the contact on the display. However, if you do not want your number to be passed on like this, there is an option available to suppress your number. On the Huawei Mate X, you can set this either for all contacts or for individual calls.

1. Open the settings via the menu of your device and select the "Call" option.
2. Here, open "More settings" and tap on "Show own number".
3. Now you can activate the "Hide number" option to suppress your number.
4. If you instead want to suppress your phone number only for one call, you can use a so-called GSM code for this.
5. Enter the code "#31#" in the "Phone app" and then the desired phone number you want to reach.
6. After that, your number will be hidden only for this call. However, on the next call it will be displayed again.
