Disable Windows Defender - Stop Security Feature

Windows Defender is Microsoft's own security feature for Windows 10. You can use it to cover antivirus protection as well as firewall and adware/malware protection. But how do you enable Defender if you're unhappy with it?

How to disable Windows Defender

If you have already had a good experience with other security service providers, then you may not need Windows Defender services. In that case, simply deactivate it:
  1. Prior to this, you need to make sure that you turn off all the features that Windows Defender covers so that the program can be completely deactivated.
  2. To do this, first select the Windows icon and then click on the gear icon.
  3. You will now be directed further to the settings of your program. You have several options, from which you click the "Update and Security" section.
  4. It now opens an overview with all the options that run under this tab. Select Windows Defender there and turn it off. In doing so, you must also turn off all options that belong to it, so as not to provoke conflicts.

Why do you need to disable everything?

It is important that before you disable Defender and all additional programs, you have installed working replacements. In order for the new protection to work for your device, you need to make sure that all components are disabled. Otherwise, the protection services may interfere with each other, making your device unsafe.
