New Alexa Skills: So smart is the voice assistant

Since Amazon's smart assistant appeared on the market, a number of new Alexa Skills have been added to its functions. Not only can you ask for the latest news, but you can also be reminded of your shopping lists or have it help you fall asleep.

The most popular new Alexa Skills

One of the most popular of the new Alexa Skills is without a doubt the daily news in 100 seconds. You can activate the skill for free and request it with the command "Alexa, what's the news?" or "Alexa, what's my daily summary?"
  1. Also popular are sleep sounds, where you can choose from a range of environmental sounds. To make Alexa stop playing again, simply set a timer: "Alexa, stop [in two hours]."
  2. The alarm clock function of the smart assistant is probably already a classic by now.
  3. If you have a user account with Bring! it is well worth it to create the shopping list once digitally by voice.

How to activate the Alexa Skills

The skills are a function that allows you to personalize Alexa strongly. To use them, you need to activate the Skills. Activation also works via the browser, but managing the feature is easiest via the Alexa app. To do so, open the menu at the top left and go to the "Skills and games" section. Then use the search field to find a specific skill or browse through the various categories. To activate a skill, tap on "Activate for use". Skills can also be deactivated here, and you can turn the notification feature on or off.
