Descaling the DeLonghi Primadonna - how to do it

To ensure that your coffee machine always delivers the quality you are used to and that the coffee tastes good, it is important that you descale and clean the machine regularly. The DeLonghi Primadonna offers an extra descaling program for this purpose, which you can access via the programming menu.

How to descale your DeLonghi Primadonna

Follow these steps to descale your DeLonghi Primadonna automatic coffee maker:

1. Turn on the coffee maker and enter the programming menu. Depending on what model you have, this works via the [P], [Menu] or [Menu/Esc] buttons.
2. Now navigate to the "Descaling" option in the menu and press "OK".
3. The machine will now prompt you to pour the descaler into the empty water tank. Note that the agent must be diluted depending on the product. Also empty the coffee grounds container and drip tray and replace them.
4. Now place a container with 1.5 liters of drum capacity under the hot water outlet.
5. Press "Ok" to start the descaling process. The process will take approximately 30 minutes. After completion, fill the water tank with clean water for rinsing.
6. Also empty the drip tray and place it back under the hot water spout.
7. Press "Ok" again to start the rinsing process. Once the process is complete, you will receive a message on the display.
8. Finally press "Ok" to end the descaling.

Caution when choosing the descaling agent

When choosing the descaling agent, pay attention to the manufacturer's instructions. If you use an unsuitable agent, you may damage the machine and void the warranty.
